Why do people wear dental braces in the first place?
is it for style? or just saying that "hey! I can afford to get braces" well neither of them are correct the truth is, is that a dentist recommends braces to improve a patient's "orofacial" or should we say appearance through  orthodontic treatment. There are many possible problems like crooked or crowded teeth, overbites or under bites, incorrect jaw position and disorders of the jaw joints are corrected. If left untreated, these problems can result to tooth decay, gum disease, headaches and earaches, as well as speaking, biting or chewing problems.

as people want to have that beautiful smile it doesn't come with ease as patient's teeth and jaw may feel slightly sore after each visit this is due to that fact that the interconnecting wires of the brackets are tightened after each visit, this is to apply slight pressure on the brackets or bands to shift the teeth or jaws into the desired position but the soreness or discomfort is only brief.

Dentists would also advise their patients who have braces to cut down on sugary and starchy foods as it generates acid and plaque that may cause tooth decay and gum disease and also chewy sweets like caramel, Caramel can loosen brackets and can cause wire damage. They would also suggest to slow down on the chewing when eating and also to cut down some certain food like apples into smaller chunks before eating this is to avoid the brackets to get loose.

Another advise is to brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss, this goes to everybody with or with out braces, also visit your dentist at least once a year or every six months.
